Introduction to the Code of Practice
The Press Complaints Commission is charged with enforcing a code of practice which is the foundation stone of the successful self-regulatory system.
The Society of Editors produces on behalf of the industry a pocket-sized version of the code so that all journalists can carry a copy with them.
In 2005 The Editors’ Codebook was published to bring together the Code and the subsequent case law developed through years of PCC adjudications.
